There is a flat-rate one-way bus fare, which is payable on board by dropping the exact amount into a machine next to the bus driver. If you intend to transfer to another bus in Miami, inform the bus driver who will give you a transfer ticket.

Miami's Metrorail system is a 21-mile / 33 km elevated railway system and there are stations including Coconut Grove, Brickwell Avenue, Vizcaya and Government Center. Trains travel roughly every 20 minutes (every 5 minutes during peak hours) and travel from 06:00 to midnight. Exact change is required for train fares and Miami's Metrorail is often very underused, although extremely fast.
